Our story
A family business helping NY metro homeowners since 2000.
EZ Home Buyers has been buying houses across NYC, Long Island, Westchester, and New Jersey for over two decades. We started as a family operation, and we are still one. Every offer comes from us. Every closing happens on your timeline. Every commitment is one we keep.

The person you'll work with
"You'll work with me, not a call center."
I'm Nick York, head of acquisitions at EZ Home Buyers. When you submit your address, your call gets routed to me. Not a national franchise queue, not a 1-800 number, not a sales rep who has never seen a house in your neighborhood.
I'll come walk through your property in person. I'll explain how we landed on the offer number. If something does not make sense, you ask me directly. If you decide to sell, we close on your timeline.
The whole team
The people who make every closing happen.
Nick is your first call, but he's not working alone. Here are the people behind the scenes who keep contracts moving, title clean, and closings on schedule.

Thomas Harlow
Acquisitions Manager
Walks properties alongside Nick, coordinates offer math, and follows up with sellers through contract signing.

Maya Collins
Title & Closing Coordinator
Works directly with the title company, lender attorneys, and county recorders so closings actually hit the dates we promise.

Marco DeLuca
Operations & Renovations
Handles property turnover post-close: contractors, vendors, occupancy transitions, and clean-outs when sellers leave belongings behind.

Ryan Chen
Marketing & Seller Outreach
Runs the campaigns, blog, and inbound calls so the right sellers find us before their situation gets harder to solve.
Our story
Why we started buying houses.
EZ Home Buyers started in 2000 with a simple observation: the houses that most needed a buyer were the ones the market served worst. A parent’s house in probate, full of fifty years of belongings. A two family with a tenant who had stopped paying. A cape that had not been touched since the 1970s and would never pass a bank appraisal. The people who owned those houses were not looking for a bidding war. They were looking for one honest number, a closing date they could count on, and someone who would not make them fix, clean, or explain anything first. That is the business we built, and it is still the whole business twenty five years later.
Who we are
We are a family owned company based in Great Neck, on the Nassau County line, and we have bought houses across the New York metro area since 2000. Nick York, our Head of Acquisitions, walks every property himself before an offer is made. He is the person who returns your call, sits at your kitchen table with the offer letter, and answers the phone after closing if something comes up. There is no call center, no acquisitions team you never meet, and no assignment of your contract to an investor you have never heard of. The people you talk to are the people who buy the house.
Where we buy
Our core territory is the five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, and northern and central New Jersey. That means Queens, from Bayside and Flushing to Jamaica, St. Albans, and the Rockaways; the Bronx from Wakefield to Soundview; Staten Island from the North Shore to Tottenville; Nassau and Suffolk counties; Westchester from Yonkers to New Rochelle; and New Jersey from Jersey City and Union City through Newark, Elizabeth, Paterson, and Passaic. Each of those pages lists the neighborhoods we are active in and what houses there are actually selling for, updated quarterly from current market data.
What we buy
Single family houses, two to four family houses, condos, mixed use buildings with a store below, and vacant lots. We buy occupied and vacant, inherited and owner occupied, legal layouts and the basement apartment nobody ever registered. We buy houses with open violations, tax liens, storm damage, fire damage, hoarding, and foreclosure cases already filed. The one thing we do not buy is cooperative apartments, because a co-op board approval defeats the point of a fast, certain sale, and we will tell you that on the first call rather than waste your time. Our situations pages walk through each of the hard cases in detail.
How we work, and the rules we do not break
- Every offer is in writing, with the math shown. After repair value, repairs, holding costs, closing costs, and our margin, line by line. We explained the formula on our how it works page, and it is the same formula on every letter.
- Every offer holds for seven days. Show it to anyone. An offer that needs a deadline to survive is not an offer we would make.
- Every closing happens at an attorney’s office. In New York that is the law. In New Jersey it is our practice. We never ask a seller to sign a deed, a power of attorney, or any transfer document anywhere else, and we say so on every page of this site because deed theft is a real problem in the neighborhoods we buy in.
- We buy with our own money and we keep the house. No wholesale contracts, no assignments, no “partner” who shows up at closing.
- We tell you when we are not your best option. If a listing would clearly net you more, or a deed in lieu is the cleaner exit, or a short sale is where you actually are, you hear that from us on the first call.
What sellers say
The sellers who work with us are usually in the middle of something hard: a death in the family, a foreclosure, a divorce, a building they cannot carry anymore. What they tell us afterward, in the reviews and the case studies on this site, is rarely about the number. It is about not having to fix anything first, not having to fly up one more time, not having to put a tenant out, and knowing exactly what was going to happen on closing day because it was written down two weeks earlier. That is the standard we hold every purchase to.
Why the site has so many pages
Because a house in Elizabethport and a house in Great Neck Estates are not the same sale, and pretending otherwise is how sellers get generic offers. Every neighborhood page on this site was written about that neighborhood: its housing stock, its paperwork problems, the sellers we actually hear from there, and what houses there are actually selling for. The guides in our blog cover the situations behind the calls: how long probate takes, how a New Jersey sheriff sale unfolds, what open violations mean for a sale. Read them before you take any offer, ours included.
If you have a house in the NY metro or New Jersey and want a real number without the runaround, call (516) 964-7222, email info@ezhomebuyers.com, or use the form on this page. Nick York will be in touch the same business day.
What makes us different.
Family owned
Not a franchise, not a venture-backed iBuyer, not a national operation running ads from out of state. The same family has run this business for 25 years.
